EARL GREY 70: Black tea with rare bergamot

Earl Grey is for a tea house what a wedding dress is for a Haute Couture house: a signature, the witness of the designer's work. For Earl Grey 70, we wanted to work only with an exceptional extract.

It was in Italy, from a small producer located in Calabria, that we found it. The organic fruit is always picked by hand, from November to February, and the extract is obtained cold. The bergamots are placed in a "pelatrice", a machine equipped with a large drum that rotates on itself, pricking and grating the peels. During this operation, the fruits are sprayed with small jets of water which, by washing the peels, will draw the extracts into a centrifuge. From there, the extract is recovered. It takes about 200 kg of bergamot to produce 1 liter of organic bergamot extract.

Unlike many commercial teas, Earl Grey 70, like all our teas, is flavored using an ancient cold method, in order to preserve the fragile scent of bergamot intact.
